Camping In Uganda

We have spent years evolving what we believe to be the perfect camping solution for Uganda. But why camp at all? Well, to start with, the weather here is fantastic and there is something very special about sitting out under the stars with a campfire in the African night – especially if you know all the right places.

But way before that, there is a phrase here. TIA : “This Is Africa”. At best it means: Things do not always go according to plan. So how about being totally independent. Self-reliant. And then just imagine the freedom and flexibility that offers you to truly explore and absorb this wonderful country.

Our overland vehicles are like a fully stocked lodge on wheels – and we are not kidding! Let us surprise you. Here are some of our favourite tours.

If you’re still not convinced, then let’s see if this might help.

We operate specialist safari and camping support vehicles, complete with driver and guide to escort you in comfort and safety on your chosen Ugandan safari.

Our driver/guides are suitably qualified and experienced. They are safe driver and friendly guide by day; chief cook and camp support by night.

Our vehicles are the Swiss Army Knife of 4x4s. By day, they offer comfort and safety for long journeys, and excellent accessibility and viewing for game safaris. By night, they quickly set up to offer magical camp nights:

The Magic

And Best Of All?

– it is mostly just us – with the hippos by the lake; at the cliff edge overlooking the plains; in the park with a ranger. Crackling campfire, chirupping crickets, chuckling hippos – and perhaps the odd roar in the distance! Africa.

So camping is a great way to truly experience Africa. But we rarely camp every night. We like to pick and choose the best option for you. We typically camp for two or three nights then a night to recharge in one of our favourite lodges.
