"A Friendly, Fully Custom Uganda Adventure."

We wanted to visit my sister, who worked in Uganda, and then see as much of the country as possible. Meanda Uganda gave us exactly that at a fair price.

Nick quickly put together a fantastic route that included Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls, Kidepo Valley, Mount Elgon, and Jinja. When my sister’s workplace suddenly changed from Gulu to Mubende, he adjusted the pick-up location and dates without any problem.
From start to finish, the communication was great, and Nick always responded very quickly!

We travelled in an RV with a rooftop tent. It was very comfortable and felt safe. Some nights we camped inside national parks, and sometimes stayed in lodges. The RV’s fridge and freezer kept plenty of fresh food and cold drinks.

Nick is very friendly and has a good sense of humour. He makes you feel like you are travelling with a friend rather than being just a customer. Every day, he adapted the plan to our pace and to any new circumstances.

I highly recommend Meanda Uganda if you want a real, off-the-beaten-track Uganda trip done safely and comfortably!

"Life Changing Tour"

Hard to adequately describe the epic tour, that fully captures the excitement and exhilaration, that was run by Meanda Uganda. Nick, our tour guide, could not have provided a more interesting, challenging, rewarding, educational and, literally, life changing experience.

Without providing a full map of Uganda we basically covered the full list of National Parks and links between. Nick was as hands on or light touch as we needed, skilfully assessing our experience and confidence (which grew daily) without ever over stretching us. We managed to see close up the ‘Big Five’, which I am certain was down to Nick’s local knowledge and extensive research, and no doubt we would have completely missed on our own.

From the start we felt part of a new family group, with all home comforts provided as part of the package. Early breakfasts watching the sun rise, travelling to each checkpoint with full commentary of the local areas, parks, history, wildlife, evening meals around a campfire under the stars is an experience never forgotten.

I can’t recommend Meanda Uganda more highly if you want the full ‘once in a lifetime’ experience.

I had never been to Uganda or Africa for that matter and had no idea what to expect. I knew Nick previously and knew of his taste for adventure so I knew I would be in good hands.

The trip started well in advance of the arrival date with discussions of what I would like to see and experience and what I wanted to get out of the trip. A few Skype calls and exchanges of information and the dates were set.

I arrived and was picked up at the airport and directly to the guest house for the first evening, dinner at the best Irish bar in Entebbe and an early start the next morning with Nick as our guide in the 4×4. Our trip was conducted over 8 days, and started with Lake Mburo National park full of wild life on every turn. Next day was on to Bwindi Impenetrable Forrest passing through towns and villages, and a visit to the gorillas which was booked in advance for us. The following days rolled on with river and park safaris accessed by dirt roads, some right off the beaten track, amazing view points, and wonderful wildlife encounters.

Our nights were spent either camping in luxurious roof tents, some opted for ground tents and some nights in lodges, mostly in National reserves so super safe and exciting.

Overall I have to say Nick brings a wonderful insight to this amazing country, with his in depth knowledge of its history and its nature. It was more like a road trip with an old friend, discovering this wonderful place. We did a clockwise trip passing lake Edward and lake Albert, experiencing Murchison Falls and wildlife park and cutting across to ZIWA to see the rhino sanctuary and crossing the Nile at Jinja.

There is so much to see an do and no better person to go on this adventure with than Nick and the Meanda Uganda Team. Our overlander vehicle was incredible well equipped, with a fridge and freezing, cooker and shower, so meals were a joy, and nothing better than enjoying a sundowner with ice and lemon in absolutely the middle of nowhere. Thank you again.

"For a true African adventure, I would definitely recommend Meanda Uganda."

Fabulous seven-night camp with Meanda Uganda.

The “Northern Circuit” trip departed from Entebbe and included walking with Rhinos and then wilderness camping in Murchison Falls National Park observing Lion, Leopard, Water buffalo and Elephant then a visit to the famous Murchison Falls itself which was truly spectacular.

Then it was up North to a two-night camp at Kidepo Valley National Park filled with game and with fabulous unrestricted views of mountains and plains under a vast sky, before heading back south via Pian Upe Wild Life Reserve, Sipi Falls at Mount Elgon and a final camp at the “source” of the Nile just north of Jinja.

Each camp was carefully chosen by Nick, arranging Park Rangers as required for the truly wilderness camps and each evening Nick offered his signature G&Ts followed by dinner produced from his specialised unique safari vehicle incorporating fridge, freezer and cooker and for the wilderness camps – a hot shower facility.

Well done and thank you Meanda Uganda! – I will be back to do the Southern Circuit!

Nick Brant fully involved us from the outset in putting together our target locations to visit and through the trip checking what we wanted to do next. He always gave us recommendations and options based on his experience and was flexible for example about whether we camped or stayed in lodges.

Amazing highlights included: being woken to the sound of hippos around us; wild camping guarded by a ranger with a fire through the night; walking by chimps in the rainforest of Kibale and watching a female chimp groom her young; the overwhelming power of Murchison Falls; seeing elephants drink and crocodiles bask in the Kazinga Channel.

We also saw, at close quarters, a leopard, lions, rhino, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, a huge range of birds and a massive snake glide right up to our 4×4!

"Great, funny and tries his best to make the experience magical."

I would recommend the experience of camping. If you can do it for longer, that would be amazing. The different locations that you will be able to see by sleeping in the most scenic environments is unbelievable.

Nick did everything in his power have us see as many animals as possible on the Safari by take non topical routes. Along with his great suggestion we managed to see more of Uganda in 4 days.

Thanks Nick for the great experience!

Genuinely one of the most unforgettable 2weeks. From beginning to end the whole trip was full of memories and made to be exactly how we wanted and what worked for us! Not a thing I would change.

Thank you so much Nick!

Had a great time working with Nick to sort out an experience with Uganda. Best 10 days in memory. Ranged from basic down and dirty to high star lodge accommodation. Perfect eye opener to Uganda, myself and friends.

Thanks Nick – will be back soon.

I had an excellent 5 day experience with Nick which worked out incredibly well from the first moment on. I trusted Nick to take the lead and had previously only mentioned my interest in visiting the gorillas. Through discussing with Nick I learnt of how incredible the pearl of Africa really is and realised that I needed to do at least a five day trip to make the most of my time in Uganda.

I felt safe with Nick as soon as I entered the car and he took great control of the journey. The camping was more luxurious than I imagined and I even had a shower which comes out of the back of the van!

I am sure I brought the luck of the Irish on the trip as I had close encounters with lots of animals including the tree climbing lion and shoe bill bird. The highlight of my trip was the visit to Kasenyi fishing village where during our camping we came in contact with a school of 14 hippos and a family of 6 elephants around our campsite!

I would definitely recommend Nick as a guide and I hope to do another tour with him soon!

I had a fantastic adventure experience with Meanda Uganda. Nick Brant can make your tour unforgettable ! He can literally tailor the perfect tour according your needs.

Together with another two skilled motorists we made a loop for 6 days , 1400 km riding adventures bike!! Yes , you read well! Meanda Uganda can organize tour also with adventure bike!! Every day we reached the camping point with alternative routes mostly off-road trough forest, mountain and beautiful wildlife. Meanda Uganda followed us with truck (when possible) as back up in case of problem with bikes . Bikes are in perfect condition didn’t need any rescue.

All camping sites are equipped with showers and toilets. Sleep in the tent or in a room on proper bed is your choice. Meanda Uganda provides any stuff you need! Tent and sleeping bag . The truck is fully equipped with kitchen to prepare delicious meals in the evening and enjoy the time around a fireplace . Uganda is an incredible green country with beautiful people I never felt in danger.

The service and cost of the tour depends on your request, where to sleep what eat , what visit, some national parks are not free. Meanda Uganda in the person of Nick will make you happy to spend your money in best way price is honest and adequate.

Meanda Uganda is definitely the right choice for a perfect adventure tour!!!

"Unforgettable 11-Day Safari Tour with Meander Uganda"

A single gorilla sitting and eating in Bwindi National Park in Uganda.

My recent 11-day safari tour with Meanda Uganda was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived until the day we departed, Nick, our tour guide and organizer, provided exceptional personal service that truly made this the best holiday ever.

Nick’s attention to detail and genuine care for our experience was evident throughout the trip. He expertly managed all the planning, leaving us to simply enjoy the adventure. We shared our interests, and Nick curated an itinerary that exceeded our expectations.

Uganda’s scenery is breathtaking and incredibly diverse. Our journey took us from the stunning crater lakes to the vast savannahs, lush tropical rainforests, and the majestic Great Lakes. We also experienced the vibrant urban areas with fantastic nightlife, adding a dynamic contrast to our trip.

The highlight was undoubtedly our visit to the mountain gorillas in the Impenetrable Forest. Walking alongside a troop of chimpanzees, encountering elephants, and observing the unique tree-climbing lions were unforgettable experiences. We were also thrilled by the sight of graceful giraffes, diverse bird species, and playful hippos, which quickly became a favorite.

The overall experience was enhanced by Uganda’s moderate climate—neither too hot nor too cold during our visit. The local people added a warm and welcoming touch, making us feel at home in this beautiful country. The trip offered excellent value for money. Nick’s organization skills relieved us of any travel stress. He took care of every detail, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the experience fully.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Meander Uganda and Nick’s outstanding services for anyone seeking an unforgettable safari adventure. It was an incredible journey, full of remarkable wildlife encounters, stunning landscapes, diverse environments, and warm hospitality.

Thank you, Nick, for making this the best holiday ever!

This was a very personal experience; Nick is really knowledgeable and great fun. Saw all the wildlife you could want. The Gorillas were amazing and a must visit. The more people that go the more they are protected. Nick tailors the trip to your requirements for a very reasonable cost. It was the experience of a lifetime I was hoping for, definitely recommend Meanda Uganda.

Communication before was brilliant to get what we wanted on the trip. Money transfer was safe and secure. Met at Airport and looked after before we set off.

Trucks were brilliant and camping was quickly sorted and great to be outside even with hippos and warthogs close by. Saw absolutely masses, highlights every day which got better and better.

Was bit nervous about the idea of a safari before but Meanda Uganda were brilliant.

Wow! If you only ever go on one safari in a lifetime this is the one to go on. Our tour surpassed all our expectations and has now spoiled us for any other adventure we may go on. Nick planned the itinerary with us in mind after various discussions and emails.

However he left enough jiggle room so that we could alter our plans if we wanted to. We used the Pajero which was expertly kitted out and we slept in the roof tent – my husband soon became adroit at packing the tent up ready to leave. I can only assume it is even better now (if that’s possible) as Nick has sent us some photos of his Hilux.

We visited all the National Parks and saw 4 out of 5 of the Big Five. However one of our highlights was seeing the shoebill in the marshes near Entebbe – a must for everyone, not just bird watchers. In total we saw over 150 different species of birds.

Nick chooses his guides carefully and they were all friendly and knowledgeable.

I would highly recommend this one of a kind safari.

Our adventure was absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived in Uganda. Nick and the team had put together a challenging and all encompassing tour which took in most of the National Parks.

We got to see so many animals and over 100 species of birds during our adventure. The administrative arrangements were first class and Nick had thought of every eventuality.

The vehicle and accommodation were excellent and Nick adjusted the program to take account of what we wanted to do. Thank you again Nick for a superlative tour and I really hope that others join you on a life changing adventure.

Me and my daughter had absolutely amazing experience! Nick made customised trip based on our availability and wishes on what we would like to see and to do.

First night we went to Lake Mburo with the hippos and had BBQ under the stars, next day to Bwindi Forest, over the mountain tracks to Ishasha and last day at Queen Elizabeth National Park game drive.
He’s vehicle equipped with the kitchen, outdoor shower and roof tent. So, you have all comfort needed with you in a wild. But there is always an option to stay in the hotel overnight.

Highly recommended guide, with dip knowledge of Uganda (sides, culture, etc.) and just wonderful person that really cares about people.

Met at the Airport with a big smile and a handshake at an untimely hour my adventure began. Nic gave me a brief rundown of what to expect over a very cooling beer in the pub. Friendly, sociable and what turned out to be a friend for life.

Small group made a difference as we went over the roles, the bikes and route. Nothing was ever a problem as I was well and truly welcomed in to the Meanda Uganda family.

Wildlife was amazing with tour guides provided where appropriate. Landscapes and routes were epic. I have to say thank you to Nic and his team for a genuine holiday of a lifetime.

In September 2022, I joined Meanda Uganda for 6-day motorcycle adventure trip through southern Uganda’s various landscapes. The tour was led by David O’Connor as tour leader and by Nic Brant as the host and tour organizer. We visited the trails around Lake Victoria, Albert, and Bunyonyi among others I forgot. We rode through the villages, lakes, Rwenzori Mountain, and the Bwindi Forest “amazing experience”. We camped in and saw the African Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, Crocodiles, etc.

This trip was beyond amazing! seeing Africa opened my heart and humbled me, it brought me back to my basic human needs. At every corner, I had unforgettable moments, the people, places, terrain, nature, and animals. Nick and David were a fantastic team, very cool and funny to be with and I loved every minute of it. Here’s my review of the trip essentials.

Service: Fully available and transparent from day 1 with the visa preparation, vaccine and travel arrangement. Nick and David were always available with on time communication. They picked us up at the airport and we stayed at Nick’s home, and were treated like family.

Value for Money: You can feel from the very first moment, that Nick loved Africa and has spent time and effort dedicating his time and energy to this country. He’s like sharing his passion, its not a commercial business. Everything was included in the package – from accommodation and food, everything was transparent and we had freedom to select hotels or camp during the trip.

Reliability: David as the tour guide was with us all the time through the various terrains, especially the deep mud. Nick drove the support vehicle and took care of all the logistics, so we didn’t have to worry about anything.

Tour Guide: David O’Connor was the heart of the trip. His dedication, patience, and fun-loving spirit made everything enjoyable. It was my first-time riding in mud, and was often in deep pools of it, despite the challenges, David was supportive, he motivated us and kept the spirit high.

I highly recommend Meanda Uganda to anyone looking to explore Uganda on two wheels. Big thanks to Nick and David for making this trip so memorable! If you’re thinking about it, just go for it – you won’t regret it!

We went for 5 days with Nick to south-west Uganda. It was a great experience and amazing fun. Nick knew the area well and was a great and guide/ tour leader. We always felt safe and really appreciated Nick’s detailed knowledge of the area making the trip an experience never to forget.

We saw all the main animals as well as many of the beautiful sites that are to be found in this part of the country. More than happy to go back and experience other areas of Uganda with Nick – we were very grateful for the effort he made driving us around, setting up camp, cooking for us, whilst doing all these things with humour and a “joie de vivre” not always shown by other tour guides.

Thanks Nick and hope to be back soon.

Planning and travelling Uganda with Nick is like travelling Uganda with your best friend who happens to be an expert tour guide in Uganda.

Wanted to take my family ,wife and 3 grown sons, for two weeks exploring Uganda. Contacted nick two month ahead. Didn’t know him and was as usual a bit suspicious but Nick with a lot of patience learned our family and formed a plan suitable for us.

Ee travelled with Nick for two weeks mixed lodging and camping sightseeing and Safari. It was wonderful. All the time we felt like there is someone who id constantly thinking about us and how to produce the best trip for us and he did.

We had such a fantastic time travelling through this beautiful country with Nick.
We saw Rhino, elephant, hippos, giraffe, lion, crocodile, leopard, chimpanzee, eland, impala, kob and the highlight for me, a gorilla family.

We travelled in and camped on top of a 4 wheel drive vehicle and also stayed in lodges. We shopped for and cooked our own food but also had the opportunity to experience Ugandan cuisine when staying in the lodges. The food was amazing.

We had experiences that were breath-taking: trekking along a ravine searching for chimpanzees, walking across the grassy plains to watch rhino, camping overnight on the Nile delta accompanied by Sarah an extremely knowledgeable Park Warden (who also spotted a leopard in a tree), driving through the national parks, boating up the Nile watching hippos and crocodiles and climbing through the impenetrable forest in search of a gorilla family.

We liaised with Nick before we left the UK discussing food, travel arrangements and itinerary which we felt were very good value for money. Nick tailored our holiday to ensure that we were able to do everything we wanted to but also used his own knowledge of the area to broaden our experience.

We felt that Nick went out of his way to ensure that our holiday would be a once in a lifetime experience- which it certainly was!
