At Meanda Uganda, we believe that camping adds an extra dimension to your Ugandan adventure. After all, why come to the Pearl of Africa and live in a concrete box? We like to think outside the box, offering immersive, off-the-beaten track adventures to fill your senses with Africa. And how better to experience this than with the fun and freedom of a private overland truck taking you everywhere you want to go by day; and providing you home from home comforts beneath the stars by night.
This is the essence of our company. Established in Entebbe in 2021 by Nick, a retired British architect and adventurer, and his wife, Patrah, a Ugandan entrepreneur. We offer you the best of both worlds: a professional, international background with a lifetime of adventure; and an inspirational businesswoman with a lifetime of connections.
Soul of Uganda
We offer you Africa, the way we like to do it. Our focus is simple: real adventure, responsible travel, and unforgettable memories. Whether you’re tracking mountain gorillas in Bwindi; camping with the hippos in Lake Mburo; or cruising the Nile at Murchison. We aim to share not just the sights – but the soul of Uganda.
Not Just Camping
Well to start with, we don’t just camp. There are some great lodges out there. We always tend to pick and choose camping or lodge nights to give you the best available option and to suit your preference. But if you don’t want to camp at all, then that is fine with us. We offer a range of safari tours based wholly out of selected mid-range lodges, travelling by custom safari truck by day. But we still recommend you trust us for a night or two!
Motorbike Adventure
And then, if you have this set up, how about swapping the 4×4 for something else?
Nick has been riding bikes for over 40 years, most recently, adventure bikes around the Middle East and East Africa. It’s in the blood. Imagine this set up with a bunch of biking mates. Riding Uganda by day and sharing tall tales by night around the campfire. So, we have teamed with some experts to deliver just that!
