Ride Uganda on a budget. Absorb the sights, sounds, wildlife and culture of Uganda on some of the best routes in Africa without breaking the bank. Immerse yourself in this great country, riding into the wild by day and relaxing in the wild by night based out of our fabulous support vehicle. Camp under the stars, tall tales around the campfire – but with a couple of lodge nights to recharge.

Lodge at Via Via
Breakfast meet and greet at Via Via. Briefing and bike issue. Suit up and depart 10.00am.
Short ride to Nakiwogo Fishing Village for short ferry crossing – every African moto trip needs a ferry.
Trail and road ride to the Equator for lunch. Continue by road to Lake Mburo.
Game ride into the park with a first taste of African wildlife: zebra, buffalo, impala, waterbuck, warthog and perhaps giraffe.

Camp by Lake Bunyonyi
A quick coffee, suit up and head out for a game ride into Lake Mburo National Park. Ride up to Kazuma Lookout for a truck breakfast with spectacular views over the park.
Rejoin road and head to Mbarara for lunch a lunchstop. Continue by road into the mountains to Kabale and on track to the mystical Lake Bunyonyi.
Camp breakfast, suit up and depart for a superb riding day, firstly the breathtaking trail alongside Lake Bunyonyi with its contorted shoreline and 29 islands. Next, the mountain pass to Kisoro rising well over 2000m before dropping down to Kisoro and a second lakeside trail for lunch overlooking Lake Mutanda at Mutanda Lake Resort. Return over the mountain pass towards Lake Bunyonyi and take jungle trail into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park renowned for its dense, mountainous forest, and, of course, home to the mountain gorillas. Perhaps add a day and go for a once in a lifetime gorilla trek?

Animal Camp at Kisenyi
Suit up, check out and continue on forest trail to Ishasha Game Reserve. Park up and transfer to safari vehicle for a guided game drive around Ishasha, part of Queen Elizabeth National Park and home to the tree climbing lions, unique to this region. Ishasha is also home to a wide range of wildlife including elephant, buffalo, topi, Ugandan kob and also leopard – if we are lucky enough to see one. We will head down to the hippo pools for a truck lunch on the Ishasha River border with Congo. After lunch, return to the bikes and head north on savanna trail to Kisenyi Fishing Village
Early camp breakfast, depart Kisenyi and continue on trail through to Kazinga Channel at the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park and a feature of the rich, Rift Valley landscape. Boat safari on the channel – a great opportunity to see elephants, crocodile and buffalo on the banks and everywhere aquatic and bird life. Fresh fish lunch at the community boat dock.
Afternoon ride to see the elephant herds on Lake Albert; the Twin Crater Lakes at Kichwamba – with an optional trek for the energetic; and, safari trail through the park to Kasenyi Village on Lake George.

Camp in Fort Portal
Truck breakfast and early morning ride to Kyambura Gorge, a secret, densely-forested gorge set into the savanna plain. Park up, change and trek down into the gorge, criss- crossing the Kyambura River at the base of the gorge to find and spend time with a colony of chimpanzees.
Depart Kyambura for a short ride to the Equator where we will stop for a truck lunch. After lunch we will ride along the base of the Rwenzori Mountains, the fabled Mountains of the Moon and home to 5 of Africa’s 10 highest peaks.
Truck breakfast. Depart Fort Portal, heading back to Entebbe with lunch stop at Mubende en route. Arrive at the outskirts of Kampala, taking care in the city traffic before escaping onto the ring road and on to Entebbe. Return to Via Via. Bike inspection and handover.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and day in Entebbe, subject to return flight time. There is much to do here including a visit to the historic Botanical Gardens or to the craft markets for souvenirs, and there are many good places to eat. Subject to your return flight time, we will collect you from the hotel for transfer to Entebbe Airport.
