Ride Uganda on a budget. Absorb the sights, sounds, wildlife and culture of Uganda on some of the best routes in Africa without breaking the bank. Immerse yourself in this great country, riding into the wild by day and relaxing in the wild by night based out of our fabulous support vehicle. Camp under the stars, tall tales around the campfire – but with a couple of lodge nights to recharge.

Lodge at Via Via
Whatever time you arrive, you will need somewhere to stay. We will meet you on arrival at Entebbe Airport and transfer you to a local hotel, most probably Via Via. We also include dinner and breakfast next morning. And if you have some time on your hands during the day, we are happy to suggest some things to do and perhaps recommend some local bars and restaurants.

Breakfast meet and greet at Via Via. Briefing and bike issue. Suit up and depart mid-morning.
Short ride to the bustling Nakiwogo Fishing Village for a ferry crossing – a great start to any African moto adventure. Ride some easy trails to become familiar with the bike and stop at the Equator for lunch and make any necessary adjustments.
Continue by road to Lake Mburo National Park and enjoy a late afternoon game ride into the park with great trails, beautiful scenery and a first taste of African wildlife, including zebra, impala, waterbuck, buffalo, warthog and perhaps giraffe.

Camp by Lake Bunyonyi
Grab a coffee and head out of camp for a game ride into Lake Mburo National Park. Ride around the waterholes to see what we can see. Ride up to Kazuma Lookout for a truck breakfast with spectacular views over the park.
Depart Lake Mburo, rejoin road and head towards the “Switzerland of Africa” with lunch and rest stops at Mbarara and Kabale en route. Arrive at the mystical Lake Bunyonyi, one of the most beautiful lakes in Africa.

Camp breakfast, suit up and depart for a superb riding day. Firstly the breathtaking trail alongside Lake Bunyonyi with its contorted shoreline and 29 islands. Next, the mountain pass to Kisoro rising well over 2000m before dropping down to Kisoro and a second lakeside trail for lunch at Mutanda Lake Resort. And, finally, return over the mountain pass towards Lake Bunyonyi and take the Rushaga trail into the heart of gorilla country.
Perhaps add a day and go for a once in a lifetime gorilla trek – or whitewater rafting on the Biriri River?

Wildlife Camp at Kisenyi
Leisurely, mid-morning departure from Rushaga – perhaps enjoy a morning swim? Mount up and take the mountain trail heading deeper into the jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, climbing to 2500m before descending towards the Ishasha River border with DR Congo.
Continue on the Ishasha trail through Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look out for wildlife on the plains either side, including elephant, buffalo, antelope – and, if lucky perhaps some lions in the trees beside the track.

Early camp breakfast, depart Kisenyi and continue on trail through to Kazinga Channel, a Rift Valley feature at the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel – a great opportunity to see elephants, crocodile and buffalo on the banks and everywhere aquatic and bird life. Fresh fish lunch at the community boat dock.
Afternoon ride to see the elephant herds on Lake Albert, explore some of the crater lakes and finally the Kasenyi trail through to Lake George.

Camp in Fort Portal
Early start. Leave the bikes and jump on a safari truck for a dawn game drive into Queen Elizabeth National Park. Great chance to see lion and perhaps leopard in their hunting grounds, as well as elephant buffalo and many of the usual suspects.
Return to Kasenyi, collect bikes and ride to Fort Portal, crossing the equator and along the base of the Rwenzori Mountains – the fabled “Mountains of the Moon” and home to 5 of the highest peaks in Africa. Short detour through the Kasenda crater lakes.
Camp in Fort Portal at Whispering Palms. Quiet garden haven. Perhaps a night on the town?
Camp breakfast. Depart Fort Portal, heading back to Entebbe with lunch stop at Mubende en route. Arrive at the outskirts of Kampala, taking care in the city traffic before escaping onto the ring road and on to Entebbe. Return to Via Via. Bike inspection and handover.

Farewell!
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and day in Entebbe, subject to return flight time. There is much to do here including a visit to the historic Botanical Gardens or to the craft markets for souvenirs, and there are many good places to eat.
Subject to your return flight time, we will collect you from the hotel for transfer to Entebbe Airport.
